To let the mind become clear,
and to give the heart space to breathe.
Water remembers the touch of your footsteps, and light lingers quietly in hidden corners.
If you happen to need a slower pace, perhaps this is a place for you.
You may do nothing at all, and simply surrender to a restful sleep. Or open a book, write a single line, leave behind a letter to yourself.
Dreams begin to take root here, slowly finding their shape.
We are all still on our way, yet somehow, closer than we were yesterday.
May Kusame Hitoyū become a place where you can pause for a while between dreaming and waking.
"May we one day understand our dreams, and with every pause along the journey, find ourselves a little closer to them."
Kusame Hitoyū began as a dream about space.
We hoped for a name that would not be defined, nor need to be categorized.
Like grass and trees, naturally growing; like time itself, quietly flowing.
Here, every stay moves at its own rhythm, without the need to become anything in particular.
Leave a little blank space behind, and let light, shadow, and time slowly pass through
—so that you and I may gently find our way back to ourselves.

The beginning of Kusame Hitoyū was, in truth, something very simple.
At first, we only hoped to renovate this space so our grandparents could have a more comfortable and accessible place to live—still close to the familiar neighborhood they knew, but with a little more light and a little more greenery, so everyday life could feel gentler and more at ease. Yet our grandmother had long grown accustomed to the rhythm of the old house and did not wish to leave the place she had lived in for a lifetime.
And so, this space slowly became something else. Our father hoped to preserve it as a place where family and friends could gather and stay—a place to sit down amidst busy lives and share pieces of everyday life together.
Over time, that intention grew into a guesthouse. We hope that everyone who comes here can find a quiet moment for themselves—to truly rest and sleep well. Because when a person is genuinely cared for, the heart becomes calmer too, allowing us to face each day and each person in life with a clearer mind and spirit. And because both you and I deserve to be treated with gentleness.
